American Pale Ale, or A.P.A .for short, is the American version of a Pale Ale, a style that originated in Great Britain. Tasty and easy to drink, APA is distinguished by its aromatic, full-flavoured hops and its often more pronounced bitterness, two characteristics conferred by its use of American hops.
Besides Cascade, the main hops used in APAs are Citra, Centennial, Chinook, Nugget, Columbus, Tomahawk, Zeus, Simcoe, Crystal, Willamette, Warrior and many others.
Despite all the possible variations, the APA must remain thirst-quenching and still very hoppy.
